Happy Summer!!!!!

(July 14/2017) Happy summer everyone! Its like soup in Nashville right now...hot, thick and steamy! But summer is moving along nicely and has include my debut performance of my new show 'Legendary Ladies of Country" in Belleville, ON at the Hollyrood Country Jamboree! They were the perfect audience for the show because they LOVE their country music for sure..:)
And I so enjoyed performing the songs in this show..so many of my favorites and so many songs that were very influencial to me and my career. I even sang the very first song I ever learned which is 'Could I Have This Dance' by Anne Murray. So fun!

I'll be spending the next month or so in Nashville with the fam and then I'm heading out to the east coast for 8 shows in August...half will be 'The Patsy Cline Project' and half will be 'Legendary Ladies of Country'. I am really looking forward to this because it has been a number of years since I did any extensive touring in the maritimes. Cant wait to fill up on some amazing seafood!!
You can click on lisabrokop.com/shows for more info on where we'll be. See you out there!!!

Tracking Day Is Complete!!

(June 10, 2015) - Yesterday, June 9th, was perhaps one of the most amazing days I've experienced in quite a while! We were in the studio recording tracks for my new album, 'The Patsy Cline Project'. We tracked 10 songs total, 7 Patsy Cline classics and 3 original songs. It truly was a wonderful day! I so enjoyed singing those classic songs..feels like home to me. And the musicians were absolutely stellar! So so good!!
I want to thank everyone (my pledgers) for joining me on this journey so far on pledgemusic.com/lisabrokop . I so appreciate your support in making this record!
But there is still lots to do! We've got the foundation laid for the album so now we will add the lead vocals, bgs, extra instruments, etc...
For those of you who haven't had a chance to take a look you can go to pledgemusic.com/lisabrokop and find out how to join in. There will be a lot more fun updates and behind the scenes glimpses as I finish the album and of course there are plenty of exclusive items still available.

Stay tuned!

I'm in Surrey, BC this week with Ivy visiting family so I'll be doing the draw from here. This is gonna be fun! Thanks everybody!

Pledge Music Goal Reached!!

(July 7/2015) I am so excited to announce that my pledge music goal has been reached!! I am so grateful and appreciative of everyone who made a pledge on this project! You are all truly amazing and I thankyou!!
But I also want to let you know but just because we have reached the goal it doesn't stop there. There is still a chance to join in with the making of this record. And the good news is that a portion of all proceeds that come in from this point on will go to operationsong.org

Operationsong.org is an organization that empowers veterans and active-duty military to tell their stories through the process of songwriting in creative and therapeutic settings. I have had the chance to go through this process with a very courageous woman veteran named Nastatia Mason and it was a truly amazing afternoon and healing for all involved. Music and songwriting can be such a magical thing!

So let's keep rockin' along everybody! There will be more fun updates for all pledgers right up until the release date of my album on Aug. 1st. If you haven't had a chance to join in yet go to pledgemusic.com/lisabrokop to find out how to pre-order your copy of the album and have access to a bunch of other exclusive offers.

Laryngitis, Hand Claps & Beer Bottles

Hey all... Just got over a week of laryngitis. Not fun! Not a good thing in my line of work! Luckily, I got enough voice back to sing with my pal Victoria Banks on her new record.  She is doing some amazing stuff! She wrote a song that was recorded with just vocals and percussion. A bunch of us stood around one mic and did some "uh huhs" and "ooh oohs" and hand claps, and even included a few taps on a beer bottle. When will people learn not to give me beer and a microphone at the same time?!!? It was a…Read more

Springtime

I think we may actually be getting out of the winter freeze! Our poor little Nashville just cannot handle the sub-0 temps! I know… waa, waa… It's nothing compared to the rest of the country, but we only have 1 snowplow and really thin coats! LOL. But it's a warm day in middle Tennessee -  Flowers are daring to approach the surface of the garden, and the cat is sunning herself in the driveway.

And it seems the sun is shining on my new single too! Several more radio stations added "Love Me If You Can" to their…Read more

Fun Week

I had a really fun week last week!

It started off with the release of my new single "Love Me If You Can." Yay, it's out!  I've been dying to share it with everybody since the day we started recording it. Thank you to all of the stations in Canada who are already playing it.  You all are the best!

Then it was CRS (Country Radio Seminar) week in Nashville and I had a chance to spend some time at the conference and ran into all kinds of people… Deric Ruttan, Ty Herndon, Gary Allan, Small Town Pistols.  I know…Read more

Love Is In The Air

Love is in the air, everybody!

It's a time for candy hearts, chocolate, flowers and… new music!!  My new single is called "Love Me If You Can," and I thought there's no better time than right now to share it with you all. Kind of sounds like something you'd see on those little heart candies, doesn't it?

Anyway, I'm really really excited to get this new song out and over the airwaves! I wrote it with my pal Fred Wilhelm and my amazingly talented producer Carolyn Dawn Johnson has put the ultimate shine on it…Read more

Good People in the World

I'm in Vancouver right now visiting some family.  I got here a few days ago.  The day I arrived, my Mom picked me up just south of the US border to take me back across to Surrey. I had my passport and other documents in my usual travel pouch that I showed to the customs officer at the border crossing. After we were through the check point I put them beside me on my seat in the car and then we stopped at a Tim Hortons ('cause that's the first thing you do when you get to Canada right?) and in my weariness of…

Happy 2014!

Happy 2014!

Seems like everbody's officially back to work this week, getting back in the groove after the holiday halt! And of course, I've been at the gym everyday working off all the Christmas cookies and chocolate I ate... yeah right!  Maybe in my dreams.

Anyway, I am absolutely psyched about 2014! It's gonna be amazing!

First of all THANK YOU to all of you who got a copy of my first single "Let It Burn," and also to my friends at radio for giving me all those spins! You are AWESOME! I can't wait to get…Read more

Kitty Wells - The Ultimate Diva For #DivaDownloadDay

My diva download for today is none other than Kitty Wells' "It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels."

The song was recorded by Kitty as a rebuttal to the "Wild Side of Life" by Hank Thompson. Hank sings of regret after his wife leaves him saying, he didn't know that "God made honky tonk angels." But Kitty said, "No way, Hank... It wasn't God who made honky tonk angels, it was the unfaithful actions of man himself that created unfaithful women!"

Quite a bold statement even for today's times, let…

Diva Download Day

Hi Everybody!

I've been doing a lot of thinking lately about the music being played on the radio these days and how the majority of the songs I hear are from guys. Where are the ladies?

Apparently, the studies show that the reason we don't hear as many females played is because the majority of the listeners at country radio are female and they prefer to listen to and buy music from men. Hmmm... Could this be possible?

Now, don't get me wrong. I love the guys! There is some incredible stuff out there by them…Read more

Big Day

Monday, September 23rd is just a few days away and it's gonna be a big day! Yup, super huge! My brand new single "Let It Burn" will be officially released to radio stations across Canada. I have to say, I'm a little nervous, but extremely excited! Carolyn Dawn Johnson has done a completely amazing job on the production of this and I'm so proud of it! I really can't wait to hear what people think of it. The message of the song talks about being true to yourself, finding out what you're passionate about and…Read more
